A fairytale chateau wedding, with smiles all round
– despite the rain!

We had been watching the weather for the previous couple of days.  It had been unseasonably stormy and the day of Jenni & Ian’s wedding it was hard to predict.  Will it rain? Won’t it? Will they get their gorgeous outdoor ceremony in front of the fairytale castle that is Chateau Fengari?

Wedding Planner Amber and her team from Marjorie Mariage set up outdoors, keeping a watchful eye on the storm clouds rolling by. Sarah, Florist, from SDSQ Creations set up the most beautiful pastel coloured floral columns to frame the ceremony area.

Upstairs in the Chateau, Jenni was getting ready with the girls and mum Jayne. Personal and unique hair styling for all the girls by Celia from HD Coiff, and make up by the lovely Bordeaux based Julia Marty. A glass of bubbly was a fun and bonding moment for the family.

Next a few photos of groom Ian.  With his best man and friends, Anthony and Leigh, there was time enough to test the draft beer and indulge in a bit of light humour to manage the nerves. All the while still keeping an eye on the weather.

Back to Jenni and time to get dressed with a little help from Amber at Marjorie Mariage and mum Jayne.  Jenni had picked a stunning Elsa Gary gown

Time now for the first look! Doing a couple’s first look before the ceremony is quite common for our US couples; and this year we’ve seen more UK based couples choosing to do the same.  Always a special moment to capture.

So while all this was going on, the weather was not playing ball.  Plan B was executed and Amber and her team relocated the ceremony into event hall (also very beautiful!); and made plans that dinner would definitely take place in the marquee provided by Sono d’ary.

A beautiful ceremony by French and English speaking celebrant, Emmanuel Erb, from Celebrants in France.

The sun finally came out, and the couple and their guests got to enjoy their canapés and drinks – provided by Evenements & Co – out on the gorgeous terrace.  Speeches and Dinner followed in the stunning marquee.

After dinner time allowed for a few couple’s photos while the guests enjoyed themselves.

Meals, speeches and couple’s portraits all done, now time to party!  Music was provided by Bordeaux based Rock and Soul band Shake It – opening the dance floor with Valerie by Amy Winehouse.

Congratulations Jenni and Ian – all the best for the future to you and your beautiful family!
